Welcome to the English Language Learners (ELLs) for Therapists course. This course is designed to provide speech and language, occupational, and physical therapists an option for professional development to ensure students classified as ELL in Florida's public schools receive appropriate delivery of services per the requirements under the Florida Consent Decree.
This course is comprised of six units:
- ELLs in Florida
- Cross-Cultural Communication
- Assessment and Evaluation
- Current Methods
- Curriculum and Materials
- Therapy Practices
Each unit includes learning objectives, content, reflection checks, recommended reading, supplemental resources and a final unit activity. At the end of the six units, the learner must complete a final assessment.
