Unit Objectives

Welcome to the Language Arts and Reading unit of the Elementary K-6 Online Content Review module.

Florida's Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics were adopted on February 12, 2020. A three-year implementation timeline is planned with Florida classrooms being fully transitioned to the B.E.S.T. Standards, including aligned materials and aligned statewide assessments, by 2022-2023. Access Points, Florida's alternate achievement standards developed to frame instruction and assessment of students with significant cognitive disabilities, are also being aligned to the B.E.S.T. Standards.
