- Teacher- or textbook publisher-developed classroom quizzes, essay tests, and other tests are not specialized.
- Parents are usually informed of results by the teacher when he or she sends the test home with the student.
- Teachers should develop a system of regularly notifying parents of these types of test results (keeping district guidelines in mind when developing testing systems).
- Allow questions and feedback from parents and students.
- Whenever possible and appropriate, review informal assessment results with students individually to make assessments into a learning opportunity.
