Student Portfolios
A portfolio is one way to document processes and accomplishments in an authentic way. A portfolio is a student's unique, personal, and meaningful way of documenting his or her work accomplishments and relevant competencies within a domain or task area, for a particular purpose, at a certain time, or for a particular audience. A portfolio might include.
- a collection of student's work to represent a selection of performance-based activity (papers, writings, projects, etc.)
- a students' reflections on the pieces of work chosen for portfolio
- testimonials
- student self-evaluations
- biographical resources, journal or diary entries/excerpts
- external reviews or evaluations of students' works, growth or accomplishments
- visual documentations of work completed or in progress (models, photographs, digital images)
- computer disks
- scrapbooks and other items selected by the students for a specific purpose
