 The Five W's encourages teachers to focus students on the process during any type of inquiry activity, investigative reporting, authentic assessments, evaluation of a web site…apply the Five W's:

1. Who wrote the pages and are they an expert in the field?
2. What does the author say is the purpose of the site?
3. When was the site created, updated, last worked on?
4. Where does the information come from?
5. Why is the information useful?
