The development of speaking and listening skills is of primary importance for students to be able to feel comfortable and participate both academically and socially in the school community. Speaking and listening skills are necessary for elementary students to learn basic communication skills in English in order to develop fluency and comfort levels in both informal and formal settings. The speaking and listening tasks covered in this section are communicative activities. Therefore, the primary emphasis is on successful communication.
