Writing Conventions

Conventions are the surface features of writing. Conventions are a courtesy to the reader, making writing easier to read by putting it in a form that the reader expects and is comfortable with.

Florida Standards state that students should demonstrate increasing sophistication in all aspects of language use, from vocabulary to syntax to develop and organize ideas.
